Koloa
The site of the first sugar plantation (1835) in the Hawaiian Islands, Koloa is on the south side of Kaua'i, about 3 miles mauka (inland) of the resort community of Po'ipu.
Koloa today is largely a collection of restored shops and boutiques, many of them originally plantation worker homes and businesses.
